Speaking of horror, this ghost story of mine is very scary.
One day I went out with a group of friends. As it was too late, and I lived far away and the night bus was late, I had no choice but to stay overnight at one of my friends' house. When we arrived at his house, he suggested taking a shower before going to bed. My friend told me that the bathroom was at the back, and gave me a towel, so I walked to the back of the house. It was a large bathroom with a bathtub inside. I turned on the water to fill the bathtub, and then I went in to enjoy the water.
Soon, I heard a knock on the door. I thought my friend was calling me, so I went to open the door wrapped in a towel. The door was open but no one was there. I suspected that I had misheard, but strange things happened one after another. I began to get angry and thought that my friend was playing a prank. After I washed myself and put on my clothes, the knock on the door came again. This time I opened the door quickly and was also startled because there was an old lady standing in front of the door. She said in a bad tone: "Don't waste water!" After I calmed down, I hurriedly apologized. I originally thought that this old lady was a family member of my friend. When I was about to introduce myself, I didn't see the old lady. I guessed that she must have scolded me and went back to her room. I went to my friend embarrassedly to say sorry. He looked at me with a strange expression and asked me what had happened. I explained it to him again, but he was still confused. I gestured to the old lady's appearance, and suddenly his face darkened. He told me not to talk anymore and hurriedly urged me to go to bed. Although I realized something was wrong, I didn't ask any more questions.
The next day, my friend told me that the old lady who knocked on my door last night was actually his grandmother, but she had passed away a year ago. He also took me to see her black and white photo. It turned out to be the old lady who knocked on my door. My friend told me that his grandmother had been very poor since she was a child, and she was frugal by nature and never liked to waste things. She knocked on my door this time just to tell me not to waste water. My face changed after hearing this, and I fell ill when I got home. From then on, I dared not spend the night at this friend's house again.
