A friend of mine who specializes in studying ghosts and gods once told me:
When riding a bike at night, it is best not to keep looking at the back seat of your bike. Even if you have to look, don't keep muttering things like "Is there a ghost sitting in the back?"
Because ghosts are often born with your fear. The more afraid you are, the more arrogant they become.
My friend Jiaze is a very brave man. Every time he watches a horror movie, he always laughs out loud.
The most memorable time for me was when we were watching "Out of the Blue" together, and he was eating French fries with ketchup.
One night after we had a drink together he rode his bike home by himself.
When passing the famous "Death Corner" in our area, he suddenly felt a little cold. The cold came over him spontaneously and lingered around him like a wisp of smoke.
The "death corner" is actually a 90-degree turn by the river. At night, you can't see the road clearly, so people always fall into the river and drown there. But he was born brave, so he rubbed his hands and continued on his way.
But at this moment he remembered that someone had drowned here a few days ago. It was a woman who was riding a bicycle home at night.
He was there when the body was fished out that day. He clearly remembered the woman's appearance, she was very beautiful, even more beautiful than his current wife. Especially her plump body, even though he only saw the body, he was already imagining things, and couldn't help but say: I wish she was my wife.
However, her eyes, the eyes of the female corpse, made him feel chilled.
Why, why were her eyes still open until her death, and there was a very empty feeling, as if the emptiness could absorb all the memories of a person (ghosts are afraid of death , and it feels like all thoughts are sucked in).
Jiaze thought: If this woman were still alive, I wonder how many men would fall for her gaze.
Memories aside, Jiaze continued riding his bike, slowly passing that "death corner".
But suddenly he had a very familiar feeling, a feeling of déjà vu.
He felt a chill on the back of his neck, as if someone had been sitting in the back seat and breathing on him.
Jiaze turned his head to look, but there was nothing.
He suddenly thought of the drowned woman. Yes, it was her, that was the feeling.
Jiaze then became flustered and said, No, could it be that she is sitting behind me?
So he turned his head slowly again, and then he suddenly felt empty, a kind of emptiness with nothing; a kind of coldness, a kind of coldness that made him feel like he had no desire to live. That feeling was as if nothing had any meaning. At that moment, he even felt that death was a very beautiful thing.
He reluctantly turned his head and tried to run, but he felt the car moving backwards, back toward the river.
Just at this moment, he suddenly saw the lights in the house.
The light suddenly made him feel warm, and the cold feeling suddenly became lighter.
At this moment, Jiaze pedaled the bike desperately and ran away.
It wasn't until he got home and closed the door that he breathed a sigh of relief.
After that, he never walked that road at night. The ghost of fear is afraid of death , so he would avoid it even during the day.
I never understood why he, who was always so brave, could be so scared.
Until one day when he was drunk and a few friends and I were dragging him through the "death corner", he suddenly woke up and started crying and yelling at us.
It turned out that when he returned home that day, he found that water was dripping from the back seat of the car, and there was even a human-shaped water stain on the back of his clothes!
