Shen Xia has been feeling very depressed recently because she didn't get into her ideal key university. She missed the cutoff by a hair's breadth, and she regrets it very much. Although the university she got into is also very good, she is not satisfied with it. She really wants to go to Tsinghua University, the key university she has been waiting for for a long time.

For this reason, she gave up the university she had been admitted to. She wanted to prepare again and must be admitted to Tsinghua University next time.

In order to relieve her depressed mood and to avoid the noisy city, Shen Xia, who always likes quietness, decided to go to an old house in the suburbs to quiet down for a few days and relax her depressed mood.

This is an old-style villa that her father bought more than ten years ago. It has always been used as a summer resort for the whole family. It has never been lived in. Only an old woman in her sixties came here to look after the house.

It is said that this old woman used to be her family's nanny. Shen Xia grew up under her care. It can be said that she treated Shen Xia as her own daughter. Because her surname was Wu, Shen Xia always called her Aunt Wu.

Later, she got old and her family could no longer use her. She was alone and had nowhere to go. Shen Xia's father felt sorry for her and asked her to come here to look after the empty house, which was also a way for her to settle down. The old lady liked quietness, so she was overjoyed that Shen Xia's father gave her such a place to live. She came to this ancient villa with many thanks.

She had been living in seclusion for many years, and when she suddenly saw Shen Xia coming here, she was overjoyed and her face was full of smiles. In addition, Shen Xia affectionately called her "Auntie Wu", which made her even happier. She took Shen Xia's hand and chatted about all kinds of family matters.

Shen Xia was not annoyed either. After all, she was alone in the huge house and rarely saw anyone. Besides, she had been missing Shen Xia to begin with, so she felt particularly cordial when she saw Shen Xia. They chatted from noon until evening.

That night Shen Xia slept in an empty room in the corner of the second floor. In the past, when the whole family came, they always had a fixed place to rest. This time, when Shen Xia went upstairs, she suddenly discovered this room. It had been locked. Shen Xia asked Wu Ma to open the room. She found that the layout of this room was very good. When she opened the window, it just faced the back garden. From here, looking into the distance, she could see the mountain stream in the distance. It was exactly her ideal room, so after some simple cleaning, she moved into this room.

However, that night something happened that she would never forget in her life.

Because she was chatting with Wu Ma, she forgot the time for a while, and when she went to bed, it was already past twelve o'clock. But she had just fallen asleep when she suddenly felt a little cold. She opened her eyes sleepily and found that the window had been blown open at some point, and the cold wind poured into the room through the window, and the window door was swinging back and forth.

She was secretly feeling a little puzzled. She had clearly closed the window tightly and fastened the lock, so how could it be blown open by the wind?

She instinctively got out of bed and tried to close the window, but just as she was closing it, she noticed a figure swaying in the back garden just below the window. In the faint moonlight, she saw that it seemed to be a man, with his back to her, wearing a long robe, walking back and forth with his body straight. What the hell , his feet didn't seem to touch the ground, and from a distance it looked like he was floating in the air and swaying back and forth.

She was shocked by the scene before her. How could a person float in the air? What on earth was going on…

Just as she was daydreaming, she suddenly saw the man turn around and her eyes widened in horror.

Because the man's face was like a toad, with bumps all over it and blood all over it, which made it look even more hideous. His tongue was also like a toad's tongue, sticking out more than half a foot long.

His hands were stretched straight, and his long nails were like scissors. He floated in the air and slowly approached the window. His voice was low and louder: "So there is a woman here. Are you looking for death?"

What ghost? What ghost did you just encounter? Ghost? Ghost? Ghost? Ghost? Ghost? Ghost?

Shen Xia was awakened from her dream. She sat down on the ground and shouted: "There is a ghost, ah! There is a ghost coming to kill me…"

Her screams startled Wu Ma, who was already asleep. Wu Ma came over after hearing the noise and asked what was going on.

She said with some trembling: "There is a ghost outside the window, he wants to kill me," and pointed outside the window without turning back.

Aunt Wu looked out the window in surprise. There was no ghost outside except the night, so she said, "Xia'er, there is nothing outside!" "Xia'er", she had called her that a long time ago, and Shen Xia was very happy for her to call her that, because it seemed more intimate.

"Is there really nothing?" she said with some lingering fear.

Aunt Wu closed the window and said, "There's really nothing outside. I've been here for ten years and have never seen any ghosts !" She suspected that Shen Xia was hallucinating because she was overworking her brain.

Shen Xia glanced at the window and indeed there was no ghost floating over. She thought to herself that maybe it was because of her recent low mood that she had hallucinations. Thinking of this, she felt relieved. She had been under too much psychological pressure recently, which caused the hallucinations.

But the very next night, he seemed to hear a miserable scream in his dream. The sound came from the direction of the back garden. The sound was extremely harsh and sounded quite real in his ears, which made people feel a little creepy. He woke up from his dream and was so scared that he got into bed.

Suddenly, the sound stopped, and she let out a long sigh of relief while hiding in the quilt.

At the same time, there was a "creak… crunch…" sound that seemed to come from the ceiling. She was startled and shivered in the quilt. However, her strong curiosity prompted her to see what made the sound. She secretly poked her head out from the quilt and looked up unconsciously.

She was horrified to see a pair of feet in front of her, swinging back and forth. Her eyes turned green instantly. Following the feet upwards, she saw a toad-like face with closed eyes. This was the man she had seen last night.

A bunch of his long hair seemed to be hanging on the ceiling. His tightly closed eyes suddenly opened and he glared at Shen Xia with a ferocious look in his eyes: "Get out of my place, you occupy my room and disturb my rest, leave quickly…" His voice was extremely low, as if it came from hell.

At this time, Shen Xia was already sweating profusely, and the cold sweat soaked the quilt she was wrapped in. Her body was curled up into a ball, and her whole body was shaking uncontrollably. When she learned that the ghost was not going to kill her but just drive her away, she ran out of the house in a panic, shouting "Wu Ma" and regardless of whether she agreed or not, she pulled her out of the villa and drove home overnight.

Later, she learned that the first owner of this villa thirty years ago was a very prestigious person in the business world. However, everything goes wrong, and he eventually failed in a business downturn, which led to his bankruptcy.

He could not bear the blow and finally cut off his own head with an electric saw in his own villa. Since then, rumors of haunting have spread in this old house and no one dared to live there.

More than a decade later, the deceased's descendants sold the house to Shen Xia's father. For unknown reasons, the house had not been haunted since it was sold to another owner. But for unknown reasons, it became haunted again after Shen Xia moved in.

Shen Xia thought secretly in her heart: "It is very likely that I moved into that room and disturbed his peace and quiet, so he came out to chase me away and I ran into him."
